Guide to Creating an Online Course
When designing an online course, it is important to understand that you cannot simply provide students with a copy of your lecture notes. Designing your lessons and activities in an online course takes time, and the Office of Distance and Extended Learning (ODEL) advises you to begin planning your online course at least six months in advance. Furthermore, designing an online or hybrid course requires a high level of consideration for your students. How can you present the content so that the students can best comprehend your course material without having as much (or any) face-to-face interaction? ODEL has created this Guide to Creating an Online Course to assist faculty through this process.
