DELSAC is a student-focused advisory committee overseen by Online and Extended Programs

DELSAC Responsibilities

The Distance and Extended Learning Student Advisory Committee (DELSAC) recommends to Online and extended programs (OXP) ways to improve distance learning programs and services. This committee works towards service improvement through collaborative efforts with the office staff of OXP. Student members will present and discuss concerns, innovative ideas, and improvement opportunities that can be utilized for the continuous advancement of the department and distance learning programs and services at Texas State University.

DELSAC works collaboratively with the Distance Learning Steering Committee—through communication with the Chairs—to provide insight and ideas for improvement for distance learning at Texas State University.


Membership Information

Membership Description
Any current student taking classes through Texas State University who also has taken at least one online, hybrid, or distance learning course, may be eligible to become a member of DELSAC. This committee is comprised of a dynamic group of undergraduate and graduate students who are currently taking or have taken, some form of distance learning courses. Each student will serve as a representative of their selected School and/or College.

Membership Eligibility
Members are primarily selected based on nominations from faculty and/or staff at Texas State University. Students must maintain a Texas State University GPA of 2.0 in order to serve on this committee. This policy is set up to help ensure that academics are a top priority of the student.

Meeting Frequency
DELSAC meetings are held twice a semester during the long semesters for one hour. The committee also may meet once during the summer depending on committee needs.
